Mummy's entry - Moving into Rye Li's room

Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

We officially moved her into her own room on Saturday night. I feel this move is a big change for me rather than for the girl.

Again, like how well she adapted to her holidays in the US, she was fine. Slept through the night, well, she did stir here and there a little and asked for milk early morning but she was overall okay.

I, on the other hand, couldn't sleep well (it takes me time to adapt to change) and on top of that, I got a backache as I'm not used to her queen-size mattress. The arrangement was that I sleep with her on her bed while hubby slept on a separate mattress next to us. We didn't want her to get use to sleeping in between us.

She's also saying "my new bed", "i oi-oi (chinese slang for sleep) here on my new bed" and "my room". We have been preparing her for weeks for this and she gets excited a little when we mentioned that it is time for her to sleep in her room.

This was the first night. Last night, the second night, she did wake up several times, fussing and mostly went back to sleep but she asked for milk at 2 plus am and another at 7am. For four nights before we moved her into her room, she slept through the nights and I was so hoping that this is finally my wish come true for peaceful nights but too bad! I think it's also got to do with the change.

This morning I had to get up early for work and left her on her own with the door slightly opened. Less than 5 minutes later, I heard her crying loudly for me from her room. I told her after that, that if she doesn't see me next to her means I'm either in the toilet or in the kitchen and all she needs to do is come out of the room to look for me and not cry.

We shall see how the rest of the nights go...I so miss my bed! I'm just wondering how we parents go to such lengths to change our lifestyles to suit our kid's. I'm also wondering when will I get to sleep on my own bed again...

LOL! When can you sleep in your own bed? NEVER! Hehehe...well, Jon is still sleeping with Belle. *sigh*

But you know, it's a good start you can get Ryeli sleeping in her own room. Does that mean, you guys are ready for #2? :P
