Learning how to read

I've been learning phonics at Aunty Ng's and now that I have started school, it comes in real handy. This is what I was being taught at school and I had to bring it home as homework for reading.

[Mummy's note: it has not been easy doing her school's reading at home as it definitely takes a whole lot of patience. we have a tougher time with her bahasa when we need to do her sukukata. i don't remember learning how to read in kindergarten my time other than abc's. i only remember learning how to do the sukukata when i was in standard one. so i do feel sorry when she has a tougher time with her sukukata compared to her english phonics as it is confusing to learn both reading at the same time. when i get impatient with her, i had to remind myself that she's only 4 years old]

My mei-mei & I

I love playing with my mei-mei right from the start. When she’s in her cot, I will want to play with her. If I can’t reach her, I will grab a chair or stool and play with her.

These days, I will ask mummy to put mei-mei next to me on the bed or mattress so that I can play with her. I love kissing and hugging her although mummy will scold me for being too rough on mei-mei. When mummy is not in sight and mei-mei cries, I will pat her and go “ok, ok, ok, mei-mei don’t cry, cher-cher here ok?!

Initially, when mei-mei was just born, I didn’t understand why mei-mei doesn’t want to play with me. Now, I’m happy when she smiles or laugh at me when I play with her. When this happens, I will tell mummy that “mei-mei likes me!”.

I’ll let the following photos illustrate how much I love my mei-mei!
my playmate at home!

see, i love my mei-mei so much, i don't mind her pulling my hair!

giving a helping hand

we even read books together!

we watch tv together (i need to teach her young!)

i even try and 'feed' her

and sleep together (when mummy is watching us that is as i kick a lot in my sleep)

Guess who is who? *updated*

This is an updated one of the below post....looks like most got it right. A & C are Rye Li and B & D are Haye Li. There are some similarities but they do look different, we shall see when Haye Li grows in the next several months.
Here's four pictures...two are me when I was a baby, and the other two are my mei-mei, Haye Li. Will let you know by Haye Li's full moon, next Friday, 21st November 2008, the answer. :D ....Mummy still thinks that both of us look like our Ah Mai (papa's sister).

A)

B)

C)

D)

Why are we doing this? Coz people has been saying we look alike and yet papa disagree. But there are many pictures that show our similarities. Mummy doesn't see what is his problem since both of us look more like his side than mummy's side. She always tell people that I only resemble her 'there' all this while and she's doing the same to my mei-mei too.

Sticking to mummy

From this post, papa managed to snap a shot of how gluey I am to Mummy lately.

What exactly am I doing? Well, I'm lying down on mummy's legs while watching my cartoon on TV.

Rye Li – 1, Mummy – 0 incidents

Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

Some time back, mummy wanted to go to the convenient store at our condo to buy some stuff. So she took me along and I wanted to be carried. She managed to convince me to walk on my own by telling me nicely (more like threatening to me) that if I do not walk on my own I will be sent back to Papa at home. A week after that, same thing again. But this time I got smarter, I took my own sweet time to walk. In fact, I didn’t walk; I just stood still and wouldn’t budge even after mummy telling me numerous times. This went on for a while, and mummy gave up persuading me and finally carried me. ;)

Last week, after my shower, mummy wanted me to wear this hand-me-down Elmo dress which I’ve been refusing to wear, even at the nursery. Mummy received a note from the nursery “Mum, Rye Li does not want to wear this dress” that week and she decided to give it a go with me again since she managed to force me to wear it a few weeks back.

I was protesting “don wan eh-mo (Elmo), don wan” and mummy was saying “ok, if you don’t want to wear this dress, mummy will go over to Jasmine mei-mei’s house (my neighbour who’s 4 months younger than I am) and give her this dress” and I replied “don wan”. And mummy said “if Rye Li don’t want to wear than who’s going to wear? Might as well give to Jasmine mei-mei. If not, then Rye Li wear ok?” and I said “em” and wore the dress that day.

Today, I got smarter when mummy tried the same trick. I again refused to wear it and kept saying “don wan eh-mo (Elmo), don wan” and when mummy said that she will give it to Jasmine mei-mei, I said “em”. Mummy didn’t believe this and even said “ok, I’m going over now and give Jasmine mei-mei this dress ok?” and I nodded yes and said “em”.

Mummy's entry - A-Z about me

Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

I've been tagged, thanks to my tags supplier, Lucas' Mummy and I'm already owing her an outstanding one in which I will do it later when I've more time to think about it. ;) ... I'm doing this now as this is easy-peasy (hint!)

[A is for age]:31 in July only (yea, kinda in denial)

[B is for booze of choice]: Strawberry Daiquiri, Midori Illusion, Gin & Tonic

[C is for career]:Key Account Management

[D is for your most dreaded]:Cockroaches

[E is for essential item you use everyday]:Watch - have not taken it off since Rye Li was born (only to have it clean of course but it's mostly on me 24 hours)

[F is for favorite song at the moment]:None from the radio stations. Mostly listening to Rye Li's music currently. Does "Old MacDonald" count as a favourite song?

[G is for favorite games]:Games? Does playing peek-a-boo or playing ball with Rye Li count or letting Rye Li chase me around the house?

[H is for Hometown]:Kuala Lumpur

[I is for indulgence:]Ice cream anytime!
[J is for favorite flavor of juice:] No favourite, any juice is okay for me

[K is for kids]:Is this question relating to how many kids I have or would like to have or my opinion on them?! I'll answer all three - I have currently 1 I would like to have 2 (although hubby wants 3 and I'm still contemplating on this) and I believe now that having a kid will not only change your life in so many ways but makes you appreciate your life more

[L is for last hug from husband]This morning

[M is for years of marriage]:3 years

[N is for name of your crush]:Too many to type out...along the lines of Brad Pitt, Tom Cruise (I know, I know...these 2 have dropped off from many women's list since they got involved with their current partners but I'm just in them for their looks...hehe...i know, pretty shallow eh?! But it's just a gal's dream)

[O is for overnight hospital stays]:I've never stayed at the hospital before Rye Li was born (my own birth doesn't count as that was my Mom's time). I had 2 nights when Rye Li was born, another night for her jaundice like 5 days after she was born and another 2 nights when she had high fever when she was only 20 days old. Enough to scare me off hospitals till the next baby comes.

[P is for phobias]:Cockroaches and the "foreign" visitors at nights and perhaps death itself (something that haunts me in my dreams)

[Q is for quote]: Lucas' mummy quoted what I strongly believe in so I'll quote another one ... "You are what you eat" - so does this means I'm all ice cream?!!! Yum! Haha!

[R is for biggest regret:]None as I believe that everything happens for a reason and hey, if those things didn't happen, I would not have met Rye Li's papa and hence I would not have Rye Li

[S is for status, married or single]If you have a husband you've got to be married rite?! duh! (from the above question on L)

[T is for time you wake up:]If I can set a time, it will be noon but in reality, it's 6-45am weekdays and 8am weekends
[U is for underwear:] Of course! And I don't need to describe them here!

[V is for vegetable you love:]Petai, Kai-Lan, Pan Mee leaves

[W is for worst habit:]Procastinate

[X is for x-rays you've had]:Lost count... I did several from young (braces, root canal) and several later while in adulthood (crowns, sprained my wrist). the last one I did was like 3 weeks before I found out I was pregnant and I was really paranoid after that... Thank God Rye Li came out ok!

[Y is for yummy food you make]:I can't cook well but hubby can, I'm a recipe follower if there is such a word...but based on recipes I've followed, I would like to think I can cook! ;D ... I know I make better cocktails though! :D

[Z is for zodiac sign]:Cancer
Ok, I don't know of many bloggers personally and those that I know would probably have already been tagged before. So I'm leaving this out to whoever who reads this and want to do this on their blogs or through emails.
