My 4th Birthday*

*Yes, this is another very backdated post considering with the fact that I will be 5 in 3 months time. Don't blame me that it took sooo long to do update this. :)

I celebrated my 4th birthday last year on 31st December. First thing I did when I got up was to open my birthday presents. They were actually under our Christmas tree but I had to put these aside to wait for my actual birthday.

I didn't go to Aunty Ng's that morning as I had a date with papa. He took me to One Utama to watch Princess & The Frog. We had McDonald's for brunch and I also had the chance to play at the playground as well as sat on several musical rides (something which I hardly ever get the chance to when mummy is around). I even had popcorn while watching the movie and I was really happy!

Later in the late afternoon, we met mummy at home and I was greeted by my birthday cake that I was to celebrate at Aunty Ng's with all my friends. I personally asked for this type of cake "Diamond Castle Chocolate Cake" and I was soooooo happy seeing it.

We went over to Aunty Ng's in the early evening with my birthday cake and this round, no party packs. Mummy said from now onwards (until I have an actual party), there will no longer be any party packs. So since I brought my leftover popcorn from the movie, I gave some to my friends who wanted them.

it's a barbie doll set (i told Aunty Ng what I wanted for my birthday, she also gave me barbie doll last year)

Later that evening, we celebrated my birthday dinner at Dome's. Mummy actually wanted TGIF but they had a fixed menu to usher in the New Year that night so we all settled for Dome's instead.

after we had our dinner, i was greeted with my complimentary birthday cake by one of the staff

and then, the rest of them came and sang to me. i felt like a princess, okay a very shy one!

actually, what i really wanted for my birthday was some princess jewelry which my parents said to wait for my prince charming to give them to me one day!

I had another birthday cake, made by Aunty Ng specially for me. A doll jelly cake! She also made one for me for my 3rd birthday

This was how I celebrated my 4th birthday last year....wonder if I will celebrate my 5th birthday this year end (just over 3 months time) with a big bang?!!! :D

Nursery (Day Care) activities

Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

Aunty Ng (my babysitter) organises monthly activities for her nursery for both parents and kids. It was only this year that I got to join in on the events since I'm old enough to enjoy them.

The first was the picnic at the Taman Tun's Park earlier in June. Then in August, there was a kite-making session where one of the kids' parent volunteered to teach us how to make a kite at the park at Taman Tun. Initially, all of us (adults and kids) sat down listened attentively and started making our kites. Eventually, the adults took over and most of us kids were running about and playing while the adults made our kites.

see how attentive we were, even I was listening

i got bored hanging out with the others so i asked to play at the stream instead

Two weeks back, there was a lantern festival party at the nursery and we also attended, bringing along my lanterns (I have two now). Mummy thought that I would be interested in playing with mine after my first experience but I was more interested with one of the kids' musical one. Later on, I was more interested in playing on the swing in the garden.
with one of my care takers, Aunty Alice, the lantern i'm holding is not mine, i like it coz it's a musical one
the only nice full-shot mummy managed to get that night
Jesslyn cher cher (big sister) feeding me, she loves pampering me at the nursery
the girls, Alinda, Des Ree and Jesslyn posing with the lanterns
happily being a monkey on the swing
Later, Megan Cher Cher joined me as well
And then a whole lot more of the other kids joined us...poor papa, had to be the only big kid as he had to hold on to me
When it was time to leave, I made such a huge fuss as I didn't want to leave. I cried all the way home.

Going home from Aunty Ng's

Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

Mummy has been wondering whether I’m the only one from Aunty Ng’s nursery that refused to go home when it is time to go home.

The last few months, the only way for me to follow Mummy into the car is to have Aunty Ng giving me some biscuits so that I can enjoy them in the car ride home. And Mummy has mastered giving me biscuits at the back seat while she is driving (pretty dangerous, but she will tell me to wait when she can’t pass some biscuits to me).

Mummy also noticed that I don’t seem to be interested with the fact that she has arrived at Aunty Ng’s to pick me up. I’ll be at the baby’s room and will be carried out when Mummy has arrived. Thus, I get preoccupied with the elder kids playing in the living room when I’m being carried out and I will not show any reaction seeing Mummy. I will just tend to look at Mummy for a second and then my eyes are always staring at the other kids.

So today, Mummy was in Aunty Ng’s kitchen when Aunty Alice (one of the caretakers at Aunty Ng’s nursery) took me out into the living room. I only realized that Mummy was in the kitchen when she called out to me. I just looked at her for that split second and then I went on looking at the other kids play.

Mummy asked Aunty Ng whether I’m the only one there that does not show any interest in her Mummy and Aunty Ng reassured her that there are others too like me. But Mummy still think otherwise as she has noticed many times how happy the other kids are when they see their Mummies or Papas.

She has come to a conclusion that I’m lonely at home – either this or that she does torture me like how her friends and family have claimed when she tells them that I refused to follow her home!

Going home from Aunty Ng's

Lilypie 2nd Birthday Ticker

I was having fun playing with the other kids and toys at Aunty Ng's when I was picked up quickly by Aunty Ng as Mummy has come to pick me up. I sort of resisted and complaint and refused to be handed over to Mummy. Then Mummy said "Ok, you stay here with Aunty Ng and you oi oi (Chinese slang for sleep) with Aunty Ng tonight ok?!" and I replied "Em", my way of saying ok. And then Mummy went "Bye-Bye" and I responded with my hands bye-bye to her! And she looked at Aunty Ng and told her that I'm really serious with this.

So Aunty Ng took me into her kitchen and got me a pack of biscuits and brought me out to Mummy and told me that Mummy will open it for me. So I went to Mummy willingly.

All the way home, Mummy had to keep on giving the biscuits while she was driving, if not, I will be complaining to her where's my biscuits?!!! And I also said "Pap pa...papa...pah pa" in which Mummy replied that he is still at work and later on I asked again. Actually I was referring to my biscuits!
